Exciting News....

The newest Norvell wife is going back to school this fall. Yes,that is right, I am going to persue my Masters of Communication Studies degree. I am super de duper excited, and can't wait to start classes this fall. All that stands between me and fall admission to UNT is the dreaded GRE. Yikes....pray for me as I make this transition, look for a new part time job, and take this next step in my future!

Wedding Day Reflections...

As I approach the 20 day mark of marriage, I still reflect on the wedding day. With our pictures being posted for everyone to view yesterday, I have been thinking about just how perfect the day went....

I woke up early on March the 11th with my adrenaline going. With the apartment full of sleeping bridesmaids and birdal party, I didn't have much freedom to go crazy like I wanted to. My inside was screaming with excitement, and I wanted to wake everyone up and have a dance party of excitement! Instead, I headed out to my car to buy some bagels for all my sleeping beauties. I remember thinking that morning.....this is what the morning weather was like on my wedding day....and This is what the traffic was like the morning of my wedding day. Will I remember these things in 10 years? Well, it turns out I don't even remember them after 20 days....but here is what I do remember.

Dave had the sweetest tears when I saw him for the first time. He held my waist so tight and hugged me with so much love. I remember the flowers! I was so impressed with my flowers. I kept telling everyone how I thought they looked like a picture out of a magazine. They were the flowers I dreamed of....not the ones I thought I would actually get! I remember saying the vows. I wanted to speak them to Dave, not just repeat them. I tried to put meaning into them, and emphasis on what I thought was the important words. I remember the scripture being read, and thinking about how true those words were. If Dave and I didn't have love,we would just be two ordinary people. And even more important, if we didn't have the Love of Christ, all of this would be meaningless. I remember my bridesmaids and bridal party looking so elegant and beautiful, and I remember some of the kind words they all spoke to me when the ceremony was getting closer. I remember Rachel praying just before the service. I remember Lydia snapping all kinds of fun pictures. I remember Sarah's expression when Love Shak was being played at the reception and how she danced her heart out to those fun words. I remember all kinds of people there! Friends. Family. Loved ones both from near and far. How wonderful it was to see so many people support our decision that day. My favorite memory of that day is the prayer my dad spoke to me right before we walked down the aisle. I have always used his love for Christ as a standard for both my life and my spouses, and my father remained true to that standard in his simple, but perfect prayer. I remember how much fun I had dancing, eating, and kicking back at my reception. All my favorite people were there to celebrate with me. They all were dressed in their best, and were there to support Dave and I in the most important decision in ou lives. I was the belle of the ball, and I had the most handsome prince.

Thanks to a wonderful wedding present from Dad and Pam Vendsel, Dave and I were able to capture many of our honeymoon moments the new high tech way. Here are a few of our favorites.....

A "David's eye" view of the beach. Reminds me of one of those Carona commercials.
A self portriat of us under the gazebo.

Here is Karen indulging in one of the resturants many buffets. We ate like it was going out of style!
Here we are taking a horse ride through some of the Dominican countryside.

Here we are standing on the beautiful Carribean coast in the Dominican Republic.

The first of many to come!

Welcome! Welcome to the newest online addiction of your lives, the newlywed Norvell blog. I hope that each of you have transitioned over well from Ramblings and My Electronic Mouth, as those will no longer be the outlet for our thoughts and random questions about life. We are excited to share with each one of you and to keep in touch with all our family, both near and far. Coming up soon, we will post some ( G rated) honeymoon pictures so you can all see how we spent our first week as The Norvells!
