So much to share!

Dave and I have done so many neat things recently during the holiday season, and we have so much to share. Our batteries in the digital have been out for several weeks, and we keep forgetting to get new ones, so all our photos have been taken the old fashioned way....with the SLR camera my dad bought me for Christmas about 6 years ago. Now me personally, I prefer a traditional, non digital camera. There is something about the anticipation of waiting for that roll of film to be developed and reliving all the memories in one sitting as you look through the photos when you bring them home from CVS. For a while I told myself that if I wasn't dating anyone serious after college, I was going to go to photography school. Well....God had a different ( and much better!) plan in mind. Photography is "in my blood". My uncle is an amazing photographer, with his photos being published in newspapers and on greeting card covers. My Dad has great skill too. Each prize salmon he catches has a portrait taken, and each camping trip he takes in Oregon is always well preserved through his photos. My cousin has even begun to show the "family business" with her talents being used in weddings, pregnancy shoots, etc. Me...I have done umpteen million engagement sessions for my friends at school, taken pictures for two weddings, and even shot photos for a mural one of my friends was doing. So...needless to say, I enjoy the traditional cameras of photography, but they do leave us with a lapse in blog posts. Not to worry, dear readers, by mid week we will have a full Christmas update for you, so please, continue to sit on the edge of your seats with anticipation!

I officially quit film this year... I've been using a Canon Rebel XT. WOW.

We get the photos "developed" at Walgreens and CVS. I find that it takes care of the "anticipation" need. Plus the quality is just stunning.
