Nursery

Many of you have asked about our bedding/nursery decor. Well...here it is above! I'm not really a theme person....no jungle themes, sports themes, space or dinosaurs. I really just like color schemes. Don't get me wrong...these ideas are very cute and work well for many people. I just tend to feel limited when I do a theme. If I chose something sports themed, I'd have trouble putting anything in the room that wasn't sports themed, and then I'd miss out on tons of cute things. So, when I found this patchwork plaid nursery set at Pottery Barn, I was sold instantly. I've got a few ideas to accompany it. We're going to do blue walls with a dark blue accent wall behind the crib. As cheesy and overdone as it can be, I really want to do Calvin's name on the wall in big block letters, too. I really like the stars in this picture, so I might have to copy that a bit.
Probably what I'm most excited about is my comic book idea. We have a few Calvin and Hobbes comic books. I've been thumbing through them, picking out my favorites. I'm going to take them to Kinkos and have them photocopy and print them real nice, then frame them for the wall. I think it will be really cite and make a fun focal point.
I also want to do some shelves on either side of the window and do a collage on one wall of family photos. All in all, it's going to turn out really cute and I welcome ANY ideas or things to add to his walls that reflect the bold, primary colors you see in his bedding. Should be fun to plan and execute.

One last thing....our registry is up! Search for us at Target and Babies R' Us!

Love it! So cute! Too bad uncle Duane doesn't live close, he's been known to write on walls

Great idea. I love this bedding too! I got O's letters at JoAnn's-they have a few to pic from, but you can find them anywhere or make your own.

Can't wait to see it all put together..a shift from ribbons and bows for sure...but well worth it!
