I can't believe that March is almost over. I knew it was going to go by fast, but I had no idea I would blink and it would be over. March started off with a great visit with my two besties, peaked with a fabulous anniversary trip, and ends with the opportunity to see all of my parents in the same week. This morning, through a few emotional pregnant woman tears, I dorpped my dad off at the airport to catch his flight back to Oregon. He came in this past Wednesday for a nursery decorating weekend extravangza! And boy, did he and Dave work. In one weekend they painted the entire nursery, hung shelves, visited about 100 garage sales, cleaned up the front yard, replaced a ceiling fan and had lots of conversation, coffee and apple pie. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for my dad. Having him here to play such a special role in Calvin's life. I know it will be special for Calvin to know that his Dad and Grandfather helped make his place in the world special. And, a big thankyou goes out to both my Dad and stepmom, Pam. They were generous enough to purchase all of the paint supplies and things that we needed to fix up his room as a gift to us! Between them, my mom purchasing the bedding, and mom and dad Norvell getting the crib, Calvin's room really is a mixture of love from all his grandparents.
Dave getting started on painting
Dad laying down on the job! Acutally, he's painting. He did all the detail work that Dave prefers not to do....what a trooper.
Hanging shelves
Hanging curtain rods...I'm gonna make the curtains, so they are still to come
You can kind of get an idea about how the nursery will look from these pics. I'm going to wait and show you the rest when it's more finished, but I'm just in love with my crib and bedding. I had to show you.
Dad made a new friend... we seriously considered letting Dexter go home to Oregon with Dad. Maybe this summer......
Dad's legendary apple pie...he actually made two while he was here.

Awesome! Love the room. Great photos!
What special memories! The nursery is looking beautiful. I love your bedding!
Love the shade of blue you went with. Just a little darker than ours and the white trim looks beautiful! Trim work you either hate or love, Tim's been a perfectionist with ours but glad to be done with sort of thing. Crib and bedding are so cute, what color are you going to do the curtains?
Karen, what a fun memorable weekend with your dad! The room looks awesome and I LOVVVE the bedding! How cute. You and dave are adorable in your pic :-)
Can't wait to see you soon!
p.s. I agree with Kati. You are "darn adorable"! :) Your last photo you have that happy but exhausted yet still glowing nesting pregger look. :) Yay for nesting!!
