nursery additions

Detail after detail...the nursery is coming together. Here are two new additions.

We've got Calvin's name up on the wall. The picture here makes it look a bit crooked, but I promise it's not. I took my time and Dave and I measured everything out. I will say that some of the letters aren't equal to each other....and they can look a little lopsided if you look close (like the A and L in the pic for example). But I love the way it looks regardless. When dad was here, he helped me pick out the letters and stars. I painted them to match all of the colors in the bedding and it's really eye catching when you walk in the room.

My curtain! Oh...the saga of the curtain! I spent all night last week making a curtain, and it was terrible. Just terrible. Enter my bestie and amazing seamstress, Brooke. She came over on Friday, and in half the time whipped up this cute valance to add to the room. And a bonus....I have enough fabric to cover the lamp shade to match (when we buy a lamp).

So here is what's left to do:
Table cloth of the night stand
finish repainting the dresser we bought on Craigs list
decorate shelves
Comics for the walls
Other wall hangings (a few pictures to add to the mix)

Oh...and of course, I need to have the baby to put in the crib. But I'm still working on that :>).

This weekend I have two showers, complete with friends and family coming in town to help me celebrate. I'm excited to have the support of so many great people, and you can expect one mondo blog post to celebrate it all!
